Lots of fun for kids and adults. Children from two to eight will especially enjoy the farm, what with the trampolines, slides and other play equipment. There is a whole farm of animals to see, feed and hold; rabbits, lambs, calves, birds of prey and ponies. They will love the pony and train rides! The farm's location is amazing; the beautiful hills of Cornwall are dotted with farms as they roll down toward spectacular cliffs and the dramatic Atlantic at Porthcothan Bay and Bedruthan Steps. They also have a small site, approximately 3 acres, accommodating around 45 units. The site is fairly level with good drainage, and apart from the 12 electric hook-up-points, pitches are not marked out. Contact them for rates and availability.

Geevor tin mine is the largest preserved mining site in the UK, located iIn the far west of Cornwall, on the Atlantic Coast.
Above ground you can visit surface buildings such as the Miners’ Dry, left almost exactly as it was on that day in 1990 when the last working miner left the site. You can walk through the Mill and learn about the processes used to obtain tin concentrate from the ore brought up from the tunnels below. Dogs are welcome all over the site with the exception of the Underground Tour. The miners searched for tin deep in the ground and far below the sea. Nowadays you can walk through narrow 18th century tunnels with a guide who vividly brings to life the conditions of those times.

Located just off the A30, The Bike Barn is the hub of Cornwall's bike riding activities. Based at the heart of the stunning Mineral Tramways Cycle Network, we provide training, advice, cycle hire, sales, spares, repairs, and guided group rides.

Ride across england in a day, down the Coast to Coast trail, which runs for 11 miles, almost entirely off road, from the lovely coastal village of Portreath to Devoran, alongside the stunning Restronguet Creek. It's flat (ponies pulling copper ore and coal didn't like hills), making it ideal for children and beginner riders, but there are plenty of extra loops and more demanding sections for the adventurous.

This picturesque trail is literally a cross-section through our stunning county, rich with wildlife, and industrial heritage from a bygone mining era, with lovely traditional country pubs and cream tea cafes all the way.

This railway is Cornwall's only standard gauge railway still operated by steam locomotives and the trains run through some delightful Cornish scenery.

The Railway is typical of a branch line in the 1950's.  Great Western steam tank engines are the main locomotives to be seen here but diesel traction is also used, particularly on Saturdays     The main station on the line is at Bodmin General. The engine sheds are here, as well as a Souvenir shop and refreshment room in the restored station buildings.

  • Fascinating Bodmin is ideal for a great family holiday, short break or a day visit. It is North Cornwall's largest and most flourishing town and Cornwall's Capital. It is a town that thrives on its past but also provides today's visitors with an interesting and varied experience..

Two central car parks deliver you straight onto Fore Street where you can browse at your leisure in the locally owned craft and food shops as well as the more familiar High Street names. Set within the heart of the town is the 83-acre Beacon Nature Reserve with breath-taking views to moor and coast; a Leisure Centre where you can swim, keep-fit or relax with a steam bath or sauna and nearby Lanhydrock golf course.

Within easy walking distance of Bodmin's centre, Mount Folly, there seven fascinating attractions - the Shire Hall, Courtroom Experience; Bodmin and Wenford Railway. The DCLI Military Museum; Town Museum; Bodmin Jail, the largest parish church in Cornwall, St Petroc's and the Camel Trail.

So a stay in, or visit to Bodmin means you can leave the car behind on your days out. Winding out of Bodmin there are walking and cycling trails leading to the South Coast, taking in Lanhydrock, Lostwithiel, Fowey and, what has been described as the 'eighth wonder of the world' - the famous Eden Project.

Head north and you are on the famous Camel Trail- 18 miles of traffic-free walking, cycling and horse riding along the River Camel - where you can make for the edge of enigmatic Bodmin Moor or coastwards, along the lovely Camel Estuary to the market town of Wadebridge and the charming harbour at Padstow.

Within a two miles radius of the town you can take a day out and discover the grand Georgian Houses of Pencarrow and Lanhydrock,- both set in lush gardens and woods as good as any you will see, visit the famous Camel Valley Vineyard and taste the award-winning wines; or just wander through the beautiful Cardinham Woods.

As well as boot, bike and saddle, Bodmin is at the centre of Cornwall's bus routes - steam trains link the town to the Paddington to Penzance main line which passes our door. If that's not enough you can experience the romance of steam with the sooty smells and soporific sounds of a trip on one of the Bodmin & Wenford's steam engines.

Drive Britain Ltd is a company run by people who have a great deal of experience in the tourism industry, throughout the world.

However, as people who love Britain, they have come to realise that the average UK holiday doesn't really offer the best experience of an area. Staying in one hotel, in one town or village, seriously limits your opportunities to enjoy all the activities and sights, be it gardens, castles or waves. They decided that it would be far more interesting if they offered you a sensible holiday route, with advice on stops and destination attractions, and a comfortable hotel booked and paid for, each night.

They are solidly commited to reducing environmental impacts and are working hard to ensure your holiday has a low green cost. Carbon offset schemes will shortly be introduced to help in this.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, They have spent their working lives commited to ensuring people have the best holiday they can offer. If you would like your British holiday tour tailored for you, please contact them with your interests and they will work with you to arrange a tour.

No matter if you want your UK hoiday to include the best climbs, the best waves, the best hills to parapente, the best bird watching spots, or just the best beaches. Contact them and they will organise your UK holiday itinerary, book your hotels and provide you with information for your tour.

Welcome to The Porthminster Hotel, St Ives, Cornwall. For short breaks, summer holidays, weddings or business events we offer the best experiences in West Cornwall. Our inspirational breaks are tailored to meet your perfect holiday requirements.

Locations don't get much better than this. The Porthminster Hotel is nestled in sub-tropical gardens on the coast of St.Ives in West Cornwall. Perched directly above the beach, and overlooking the clear waters of St Ives Bay and the famous Godrevy Lighthouse (immortalised by novelist Virginia Woolf), the views from their hotel are amongst the best you'll find anywhere in Cornwall.

The Porthminster Hotel, St Ives, Cornwall provides the perfect base from which to explore the delights of St Ives - one of Cornwall's oldest and best-known holiday towns - as well as the spectacular scenery and coastline surrounding it.

With its unspoilt fishing harbour and maze of traditional white cottages, magnificent golden beaches and famously clear light, St Ives has inspired generations of artists, writers and poets for over a century. Warmed by the nearby Gulf Stream, this region's climate is the mildest in the UK, making it ideal for breaks both in and out of season. Often likened to a Mediterranean fishing village, sub-tropical plants and towering palm trees flourish here, and in summer the streets are swathed in colour as the town's flower displays burst into bloom.

As their guest you'll have direct access to Porthminster beach - the award-winning half-mile crescent of perfect, powder-fine sand that is, quite literally, on their doorstep. And whether you're taking a leisurely stroll along the coast on a mellow autumn day, lazing on the beach at the height of the summer or exploring the galleries that line the ancient streets of the town, it won't be long before you fall under the spell of St Ives.

Services and features
They believe that their attention to detail sets them apart from the rest. They work hard to ensure their warm and friendly service is second to none, and when you take advantage of their range of special services and features, you'll find that a little extra really does go a long way.

As you would expect, all of their rooms are equipped with en-suite facilities, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, remote controlled colour television and tea/coffee making facilities. Unlimited use of the indoor pool, heated outdoor pool (1st June-6th September) and tennis courts is included in the cost of your stay.
